The balls with Chromium content ≥10.0% and carbon content between 1.80% -3.20% are high chrome grinding media ball. Its hardness (HRC) must be above 58 degrees in national standard. In order to achieve this hardness, high chrome grinding media ball must be heat-treated hardened. At present, there are a variety of high chrome grinding media ball quenching methods such as oil quenching, wind quenching, aqueous solution, etc. If the hardness (HRC) is below 54 degrees then the ball is lack of hardness or it has not been quenched.
